In this paper we investigate the GCR commitments of Japanese companies listed in the 2020 Fashion Transparency Index. As only three of the seven companies, namely Asics, Uniqlo and Mizuno publish a list of their suppliers, we focus on them to investigate whether the companies with a stated strong commitment also choose suppliers in the garment and footwear industries that participate in the Better Work Indonesia program.
